Screw

A screw is a mechanical fastener that has a threaded shaft and is used to screw into a part. Wood screws and self-topping screws are examples of this, as they have a tapered shaft with sharp threads designed to cut a mating thread in the part to which they are fastened.

Screws can be made from a variety of materials, some are more popular than others. The following are the four most common screw materials:
